Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification Training and Test Prep Program
Our cohort based CDA Training Certificate program meets the 120 clock hours of professional development plus offers online live instruction and guidance in preparing for the test and submitting your portfolio. The tuition includes both the textbook and the test fee. The cohort meets weekly to discuss content, check in on course progress, and review portfolio content.
Most learners who are currently employed an ECE facility in the state of Delaware are eligible to take this course at no cost.

STEP 1: Self-Check for Eligibility
To be eligible for DE Department of Labor funding for this program, you must answer "YES" to all of the following questions:
My ECE location (just my single location) employs fewer than 50 workers.
I have previous paystubs (six months preferred).
I have a Social Security Number.
I have a driver's license or photo ID that shows my current address.
(Men only) I have registered for Selective Service.

Tuesday, Feb 3: “An Overview of a Trauma-Informed Approach”
Participants will be provided with the framework for trauma-informed practices that can be used to identify trauma and toxic stress in themselves and in others who may need support. Increase your understanding of the types of experiences that can cause distress and learn ways to develop personal resilience and offer trauma-informed care to others.

Tuesday, Feb 10: “Trauma-Informed Leadership”
Participants will learn to recognize behaviors that might be the result of trauma or stress and appropriately respond as managers and leaders. Learn about concepts such as vicarious trauma, re-traumatization and compassion fatigue with an eye on self-care as you create a protective and trusting workplace environment.

Tuesday, Feb 17: “Assessing Resilience in Trauma-Informed Organizations”
Participants will explore ways of defining and/or being a trauma-informed, resilient organization and the tools that currently exist to assess and measure these concepts. Engage in conversation about this topic and share experiences and resources so that we can advance the work of creating, maintaining, and assessing trauma-informed, resilient organizations around the globe.
